Lathe for Sale.

February 17, 2022

Hello, HCT members. I’m selling my Blue Mule, my Rikon 70-1218. You all likely know a bit about it since it’s originally from Lee Valley, but I’ll itemize the features:

3/4 HP
Swing Over Bed 12”
Swing Over Tool Rest 9-1/16”
Working Distance Between Centers 18”
Length 37-3/4”
Amps 4.5
Volts 120V, 60Hz
Width 9-3/4”
Height 16-1/4”
450- 3,500 RPM
Tool Rest Post Diameter 1”
Base Size 30” x 7-3/8”
Net Weight 70.5 lbs.

The lathe comes with every original piece, except the decal for the number 7, which wore off the front. Not pictured (but included) is a plastic plate from the tailstock end, which needs to be removed to take the tailstock or banjo off the bed. The included faceplate can be seen on the magnetic bar, above the tool rest of the front-facing photo. The 5″ black tailstock handwheel stays with me or I’ll include it for $50, the original cost I paid. I will include the soft touch I made to fit the live center.

It has been a great first lathe, well maintained and cared for, with my work demonstrating it’s capability. I’m asking $575.00.
