Being Prepared

It is the 22nd of October and I’ve finished a Christmas gift for my Granddaughter.
Using locally salvaged and dried green ash, I’ve made small toy kitchen utensils, and a pot set. The pots are 10 cm diameter, and the spatula, spurts, and scoop are about 15 cm long.

The Tutoring Tutors are back to School
Every year some of our members volunteer to help the grade 10 shop students at Walter Murray High School learn to turn.
This year Mel Genge and Robin Reynolds are coordinating the volunteers. Robin took some pictures at the last event to show some snapshots of how this works where every student has a personal instructor for an hour to be sure the student comes away with a finished piece. This term they are turning a tree.
