Festival of Trees 2025

Planning for the 2025 Festival of Trees started in December 2024 when we received a wonderful letter from the recipient of that years tree. The club discussed if this was a project that we wanted to be involved in the future, and after hearing glowing responses from both our members and the public, we decided that it was a great way to promote our club while having a lot of fun learning technique and participating in a rewarding cause.
Once again Hub City Turners collaborated with the Saskatchewan Woodworkers Guild. This year over 225 ornaments were created for the tree. A huge thank you to Kelly-Robin Bellamy, president of the SWG, for coordinating the project and organizing the decorating team at the Western Development Museum.
The recipient of the tree met with a couple of our members at a club demonstration at Lee Valley and sent us a wonderful letter about their purchase.
A grand total of 27,148 people attended the 40th anniversary of the Saskatoon Festival of Trees in 2025. Proceeds of $150,140 supported our beneficiary, Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation, to help fund the equipment, resources, and programming needed to add 109 new acute care beds at Saskatoon City Hospital.
