Festival of Trees 2024

In conjuction with the Saskatchewan Woodworkers Guild, Hub City Turners took on the challenge to help decorate a tree for City Hospital's Festival of Trees, which is held annually at the Western Development Museum each November.

As you can see from the images to the left and below, our members have shown great creativity, from the tree topper by Trent Watts to the inside out turnings of Vic Schapansky and the snowmen by Mel Genge.  This is only a small sample of the workmanship that went into the over 170 ornaments that decorated the 6' tree supplied by the Hospital foundation.

Proceeds benefited the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation to fund essential equipment and care. In 2024, the festival donated $103,939.39 to aid in the purchase of a new CT scanner.
