Fifty people showed up for this month’s meeting including five guests.
A short business meeting included:
- Mark Noete with an update on the wood show and upcoming events this summer.
- Paul Schroeder talked about Shell Lake.
- Trent Watts reported that Elio Menis is in the hospital in Lloydminster.
Demonstration

Richard Pratchler did a fine job of demonstrating some surface design options.
The first one was based on work by the Tiny Turner using pigments and flakes to colour the rim of a bowl. https://www.thetinyturner.co.uk/pigments-and-flakes.
Richard brought a bowl with a carved rim, painted black and coated with sizing material.
He then showed us how to apply the coloured flakes that stick to the sizing.
The result was a magnificent coloured rim.

Richard cleaned up the endgrain and then showed various ways to use the texturing tool. After each one he parted off the ‘cookie’ and showed another spiral form.

A huge Thank You to Richard for an excellent demonstration and tutorial.
