A multitude of members came out for our meeting tonight... (I say a multitude because I forgot to take count!)

We tried a few new things; incorporating a 3 camera streaming system for our demonstration and using a photo background for our Show and Tell imaging to speed up website management and make us all look a little cooler!

We are looking for a couple members to help out on the program committee and organizing "Intro to Turning" classes which are typically held in Waldheim at Glen Friesen's outstanding shop. Many minds spark many ideas.

Randy Sawchyn, our treasurer presented a financial report and informed the members of how to register for membership.

A couple of new members graced our meeting. We welcome them to what I hope is an interesting and rewarding experience in woodworking...

Lastly, we had an outstanding demonstration of Inside-Out turning from our President Vic Schapansky.

Maybe if I take the lens cap off....

Demo: Inside Out Turning with Vic Shapansky

This evening Vic Schapansky demonstrated the "Mel Genge Technique" of turning in Inside-Out turning.

Vic explained the need for having 4 exact sections; how to number them correctly so after turning the inside, the glue up needs to be in the same numbered configuration for the turning to be symmetrical.

In many of Vic's turnings he has created 'ornamental' objects that are placed inside the turning before he finishes the outside.

Most entertaining and informative.

Vic mentioned that there is a tutorial by Mel Genge available in the Resources Section under Video Tutorials.
