Shell Lake 2023

August 21, 2023

Here is a recipe for you.

Ingredients:

Enthusiastic wood turners
Enthusiastic observers and supporters
A fantastic gazebo with all the necessary amenities (Yeah…Shell Lake community)
Conversation and coffee
Early morning mist as the sun peeks over the horizon and warms our chilly bones
Tons (maybe even literally) of equipment
Wood shavings peeling sweetly off a gouge and flying into the air
Conversation and coffee
Ideas, suggestions, critiques, laughter, teaching and learning
Completely wacky ideas that ferment and ripen into creative genius
Summer, fall and nearly winter, all in three days
Our own Peach Cobbler chef with all the ingredients (yes..fire, food and flavour). Thanks Randy
Cinnamon buns from the community (Thanks Anita and Kathy)
Interested travellers stopping in for a look and some learning
Did I mention conversation and coffee
The inevitable reveal of a Snerk (Al our resident Snerk expert feels this one is possibly from Pluto)

Give this recipe a big shake and a stir, let sit for three days to ferment and you will end up with “Shell Lake 2023”

A few images to highlight the events.
