I was born and raised in Saskatoon. I also lived in Meacham Saskatchewan for a part of my teen years when my parents owned the general store. I’m currently a journeyman machinist by trade and enjoy woodworking as my hobby.  I became interested in woodworking at a young age with the encouragement of my parents and took an interest to intarsia. I have made several pieces for family and friends over the years and I am especially proud of a piece called the hidden forest. I put 110 hours into creating the piece. I was also interested in wood turning but became more involved when my wife and in-laws surprised me with a general lathe for my 50th birthday. I thoroughly enjoy hunting for the perfect piece of wood looking for its special qualities that will make a beautiful bowl. I mostly enjoy working with local woods and like finding a stump, log or burl that I know will become a beautiful piece of art. I am currently a member of the Hub City Turners club in Saskatoon. I’ve met so many extremely talented woodworkers to learn from and hopefully I too can pass on some of my techniques to them. I recently had heat installed in my shop and can spend more time with the “mistress” my lathe….a joke my wife and I share. However my wife is my biggest fan and displays my work proudly in our home.
