March 2022 monthly meeting.

March 9, 2022

The evening of March 8 ushered in the return of in-person meetings for Hub City Turners. One count revealed 26 people came out to enjoy meeting again at the Walter Murray High wood working shop.
Steve Penn has stepped into the role of president and led the meeting through our business, demo, show and tell and door prize.

Members present gave a round of applause to Don Buck for his years of service as our president.
Thanks Don and Steve for helping HCT be a successful club for people interested in wood turning.

Paul Schroeder reported that Shell Lake has been reserved for August 11 – 14 for our Gathering at the Gazebo.

DEMO

Our club decided some time ago to prepare demonstrations by filming them and preparing them for viewing on YouTube. This give flexibility to present the demonstration if we are limited to a Zoom type meeting and also allows members to view the demo whenever they want.

Trent Watts gave a demonstration on turning a goblet with captured rings.

SHOW AND TELL

Quite a few members brought items for show and tell. An overview is shown in the pictures below.
