Paul Schroeder had this bowtie idea for some time and was able to capitalize on the Ed Preddy webinar and fix up this bowl.

I had this rough turned green ash bowl for over a year. The bark inclusion had opened considerably after the first turning. About a month ago I purchased bowtie/butterfly templates, and inserts from Big Island Engraving. The Ed Pretty webinar was also timely. In total the bowl has six bowtie patches. I’m still deciding if I will fill the bark inclusion void with burgundy colored epoxy.
