More busy turners have sent in some pictures.

I recently got this 5 1/4” diam. bowl blank from Mike Hosaluk.  I believe it is Big Leaf Maple, but it is quite light in colour as you can see from the outside.  I used yellow analine dye on the inside and put on four coats.  I then decided that one more coat would make it better – but it turned it orange.  I then decided to burn the trees into the outside.

I started a Willow bowl a month ago. I dyed it but hated it so turned it again and spent hours sanding the tear out. Willow has beautiful grain so put 4 coats of Tung oil and 3 coats of Wipe on polyurethane on it.  It is 8 3/4 inches in diameter and 4 inches high. The rim has remnants of cherry dye and black sharpie but looks good that way.

I had some cheaper walnut around so I laminated 4 layers of walnut on each side of an Ash board.  I turned the wood into a tear drop shape. I picked up the 2 3/4 inch barometer from Lee Valley. The barometer is 5 inches in diameter and 7 1/2 inches long.  Finish is Tung oil and wipe on poly. I wanted to turn the clock and the humidistat but sticker shock on walnut has delayed the project.
