This is a rolling pin made as a birthday gift for one of Marla’s friend’s, which happens to be today. It is of eastern maple from one of the bat blanks that Mike Hosaluk has for sale. It is 20 1/2” long, just under 2 1/2” in diameter and is finished with mineral oil. Making it made me wish for a longer tool rest.

While out exploring Saskatoon neighbourhoods on my bicycle the other day I came across an interesting building. It wasn’t clear if there were lathes adorning the inside of the church. It could be packed with turners, carvers and other woodies on a day of service I suppose.
