We have a couple of entries in today’s Keeping in Touch.
– Bernard Nagel turned a vase and some tulips.
– Mel Genge has finished another set of grinders.
One of my neighbours cut down some trees this spring and I got a piece of some kind of poplar I think. I turned the vase when it was still green and finished it with Danish oil after a month or more of drying. I made some more tulips from maple and finished them with aniline dye and a final coat of Minwax polycrylic to give them a nice shine.

I was telling Trent that I was going to make a new set of mills for my son Shawn, and Trent said “Why don’t we make a video of you making them.” There will be an announcement in the blog when the video is ready. These are the final pair of grinders from my project. I had taken them to Listowel Trophies on 1st Avenue in Saskatoon and had some laser engraving done on them. They are finished with Watco oil and buffed.
