I noticed I still had a couple of pieces of Douglas Fir that was given to me by Michael Hosaluk. It was from the old Quaker Oats flour mill that was built in 1905 and demolished in 2015. I made it 23 inches long, the center 8 inches is 1 5/8 tapered to 1 1/8 at the ends. It is finished with butcher block oil.
