Two items for today’s post.
1. HCT had our February meeting tonight and among other items we watched Rick Hounjet’s video on dyeing wood. You can watch the video on our YouTube Channel.

2. Vic Schapansky sent in some pictures of his latest work.
The first two pictures are from Shakey. It kept on moving. Every time I put it on the lathe it vibrated. The butterflies were expertly done by Paul Schroeder. This bowl had a lot of cracking and needed to be welded back up. I filled the cracks with black CA medium glue. It seemed like the glue was a bit too thick but after 8 applications they got filled. The second bowl was turned several times to get it thinner. Much thinner and it would have been a funnel. Both bowls are just over 10 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 inches high. Finished with Tung oil and lacquer. I got this wood from Peter.
