Stan Olson is not only a turner but makes beautiful pictures out of Basswood. Here is his story.
I went to a carving show last winter in Yuma and thought I would like to try some carving with wood burning. I bought a carving magazine and 5 carving tools and a piece of Basswood. I followed the instructions, which were very good, for carving an Eagle and was pleased the way it turned out.
Next I thought I would like to carve a elevator so I used Basswood again and had my granddaughter paint the sky.
