Keeping in touch April 7, 2023

April 6, 2023

Paul Schroeder and Rick Hounjet have some interesting submissions for today’s post.

I kind of think of this bowl as the evolutionary progress of life slowly emerging out of the primeval soup.

I watched a fellow do an emerging bowl turning on YouTube .

The problem was he didn’t explain things very well. Anyway I think I committed most of the possible rookie mistakes.

But it does “,look good from far, though it may be far from good”

Paul

This is a Big Leaf Maple bowl that I won at Peter and Marla’s Christmas party. The grain reminded me of Northern Lights and so I used dye to light up the sky and pyrography to create the caribou and the trees.

The piece is titled: Athabasca Skies
