As is the rhythm of things, graduation season is upon us and a few caregivers are moving on with their careers. For one, who is engaged, I made a walnut and oak ring box.
Spalted Poplar Emerging Chalice for Emerging Nurse
Here is the second grad gift I’ve made. A 100mm by 160mm emerging chalice made of spalted poplar. It was sanded to 400 grit, sealed with 1lb shellac, polished with tripoli then white diamonds. The turned portion was finished with carnauba and beeswax, the bark with 2lb shellac.
