December meeting 2023

December 13, 2023

Thanks to Peter Downing for the write-up and the photos.

On December 12th members met for the last time in 2023 to have a Christmas Social and show off their Christmas themed projects.  This year’s challenge was to create a snowman.  Many ‘snow people’ were created, however many had been donated to the Saskatoon Food Bank fundraiser and are now living in other folks homes and could not be presented.

Here is a most probably incomplete list of our Snowmen Designers:

Vic Shapansky
Trent Watts
Dean Weldon
Duncan Birch
Randy Sawchyn
Jay Scott
Gary von Kuster (with the only ‘reclining’ snowman)
Jim Beebe
Rick Hounjet
Bill Vanderloos
Don Buck
Mel Genge
Richard Kent
Peter Christensen, (with a ‘Christmas Horror Story’) and
Jay Scott, creator of the smallest snowman.

Thanks to Jim Beebe and Steve Penn for organizing the event, and may all of our turners have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Peter D.
